Summary of conducting a Verification of Competency (VOC)

A Person Conducting a Business or Undertaking (PCBU), a Principal Contractor (PC) or employer may request evidence that the worker has the knowledge and skills to do a task within their workplace to the necessary current industry standard. VOC process

The applicant is going to be informed of the verification process, the conditions under that the tasks is going to be conducted, the necessary outcome and the result of the verification process. Any gap training requirements and cost (if required) is going to be calculated by the RTO and approved by the employer just before commencement of gap training. Documentation of VOC A written report is going to be forwarded to the employer or nominated person detailing the result of the verification, the ability of the worker and the degree of their performance.
